Lady Lucia Update (2026 Edition)

Hey, everyone--

Happy New Year! Hope you all had a great holiday season, and are maybe getting started on your resolutions today. I'm looking forward to plenty of things this year, including some writing projects that have been on my mind and/or on the page for the last few months. You'll have to wait and see, as I haven't decided the order in terms of which one(s) will receive my focus first.

However, now I can give you more of a firm plan compared to what I floated in my last update. Here's what you can expect for my post 'schedule,' if it can be called that after the shift I'm making, as well as some titles you can expect to see in January.

Writing Plan

Moving forward, the one SubscribeStar day you'll always be able to count on is Thursdays. Specifically, that will be two extra long installments of "Raven's Fall," as well as a chapter of "The Flower Boy" and "From Taylor to Tay-Tay."

I also plan to conclude "The Presentation" by the end of the month. I'm projecting it will end up being 4-5 parts total. Six at most, if I expand on anything unexpected along the way.

Other than that, you'll just have to wait and see. It might be an installment of one of my ongoing stories, or a first chapter of a new short story. I do plan on continuing "The Teaching Assistant" and "The Tutor," but will be writing those as 2x or 3x length parts instead of the shorter posts from before.

There are two reasons I'm taking the approach of 'less consistent post days, but longer installments:'

1. Better focus. I've figured out that my writing quality tends to suffer when I'm pivoting between 8-10 stories at the same time. By decreasing that number every month, I'll be able to produce better chapters.

2. Better personal investment. Finding the spark/motivation to write something doesn't come as naturally when I'm being pulled in so many directions each week/month. This way, I can really sink my teeth and my energy into one story at a time. When I get into a groove, the word count will naturally increase simply from how I'm giving my all to it. Granted, I always try to give it my all, but it's more difficult to abruptly shift gears between different stories and/or genres day to day.

Those posts will most likely be on Tuesdays, but not all Tuesdays. Potentially Saturdays this month, since I'll continue to share "The Presentation" updates until the story is complete.

As for my website, I’ll pretty much just be posting when I finish writing something. For those, I’ll be sticking with Monday and/or Friday on any given week.

Long story short, I'm giving myself more flexibility than before, while still maintaining a degree of accountability for myself and for you, my readers. Too many deadlines lead to poor writing and/or rushed editing, so I'm allowing a bit of breathing room moving forward.

Let me know if you have any questions!

Story Highlight

Couldn't think of a New Year's story, unfortunately. So I'll go with something a bit unique, which I often aim for with these highlights.

It Was All for Charity, Wasn't It?, by Jackie J, is a 'Lady to Maid' story, for those familiar with the genre. While it could probably use a round of editing, in my opinion, it's a fun story about a girl slowly being manipulated from what's supposed to be a fun/playful charity prize into a full blown servant for the woman who 'donates' for her services.

Conclusion

Have a great year, everyone!

Let me know if there are any plots/pairings you'd be interested in seeing. No promises in terms of whether I'll be able to deliver on them, but it's still fun to hear what you're all into!

Much love,

Lady Lucia
