Lady Lucia Update (April Edition!)

Hey, everyone—

Just a couple pieces of news to share for you this month, and then I’ll be getting back to perpetually playing catch-up due to my crazy March/April. I promise, things will lighten up for me starting in May; the plan right now is to start doing some writing Marathons on May 1st and beyond so I can be ahead of the game moving forward. Which ever so smoothly leads me into my first thing . . .

Real talk, my day job is starting to drive me crazy. I’m sure many of you can relate!

Between the role creep and how I’m having to commute more and work remotely less, I’d really love to cut my hours back as soon as humanly possible. Or quit entirely, of course. But I can’t do that until I’m making a reasonable living off my writing. Because, you know, bills to pay and all the financial joys of adulthood.

As soon as I’m able to focus my time and energy into writing and only writing, my word count will increase and I’ll be posting more regularly when not having to simultaneously deal with nonstop months like March/April/December every year. That’s the only hint you get in terms of what I do outside of my writing endeavors!

If you aren’t currently part of my SubscribeStar, check it out! And if you’re already signed up, take a look at some of the other tiers. A handful of them are simply ‘I’ll write more of your favorite story,’ while some of the higher ones are a bit more specialized. Every dollar helps make my dream a reality, and serves to increase how much and how often I’ll be able to write.

Thank you, thank you, thank you for the consideration, and maybe the commitment. :)

Potential Commissions

Both “The Faire” and “The Dancer” will be concluding soon. That means I’ll have a couple flexible slots each month for stories that currently don’t exist. I don’t plan on starting anything new of my own while there are still ongoing works that I want to focus on, but I should be able to fit in a monthly post for someone(s) commission. This will be first come, first served, as I’ll only be able to handle so many additional stories at a time. Once I reach my limit, I plan on locking the SubscribeStar tier until a commission is complete and/or if someone currently pledged decides to drop for whatever reason.

As always, please message me before signing up at that tier; I want to make sure the concept you have in mind is something I’ll be able to bring to life.

Story Purchases

I’ve had a couple requests for this, and I do understand the appeal. For those that have account/subscription fatigue, I’m currently looking into creating an option on my website where you can individually purchase my exclusive stories. The details still need to be ironed out, as the majority of those works are still ongoing. However, I may be able to separate them out into various arcs or longer sections that can be purchased individually, or later bundled once the story is complete.

This is very much still in the brainstorming phase, but stay tuned! As always, I want to do what I can do make my writing accessible to everyone, especially since I have a variety of genres.

Conclusion

That’s going to have to be it for me. Back to writing!

Much love,

Lady Lucia

P.S. If anyone is familiar with SubscribeStar and if there’s a way to include a Table of Contents over there for writers such as myself, I’m all ears. In the meantime, I recommend using my “Exclusive Content” page to quickly access the story(s) you want to read.
